The Novelist plugin comes with a variety of HTML and PHP templates for displaying book information. These templates can be found in the plugin folder in the “templates” directory. If you want to edit one of these templates and ensure you don’t lose your changes, follow these steps:

1. Create a new folder in your child theme (see these instructions) called novelist_templates.
2. Navigate to the plugin folder in the templates directory and locate the template(s) you want to edit.
3. Copy the file(s) to your novelist_templates folder in your child theme. Make sure you use the exact same file names.
4. You may now modify the files however you like and you will not lose your changes when the plugin is updated.
